Implementing research projects and academic exchanges are the main elements of the plan for further cooperation between the University of Warsaw (UW) and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

On behalf of the UW, the agreement was signed by Prof. Sambor Grucza, Vice-Chancellor for Cooperation and Staff Affairs. Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz was represented by Prof Stephan Jolie, Vice President for Studies and Teaching.

UW’s cooperation with Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz was established 35 years ago. It mainly concerns the exchange of students, doctoral students and academics pursuing joint research topics, in fields such as history, archaeology, Slavic studies, linguistics and philosophy.

The aim of the agreement is to expand research cooperation in these fields and to launch joint activities in the biological and chemical sciences, as well as to develop academic exchanges between the universities.
