Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Opole University of Technology launched a unique laboratory

11.08.2021

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Opole University of Technology has launched a unique laboratory using Internet of Things technology and live image transmission from each desk. Thanks to this, the student from home can work on the university’s equipment, and take part in the classes. All he needs to do is log in to the website.

The student is informed that he is working from home in a real laboratory. On the screen, he can see a preview from the camera to the devices he will be dealing with. Thanks to the remote laboratory, it can control the devices installed on the stations located in the Faculty of Vehicles of the university.

– Many companies, such as nuclear power plant, have hazardous zones. In such places, employees can perform certain activities safely and remotely. The student can do laboratory exercises in the same way during a pandemic – says Prof. Sebastian Brol from the Department of Vehicles, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Opole University of Technology.
