First in Poland subcutaneous arrhythmia recorder communicating with a smartphone

The Cardiology of the Children’s and General Pediatrics Clinic of the Independent Public Children’s Clinical Hospital of the Medical University in Warsaw performed the first in Poland implantation of a subcutaneous arrhythmia recorder, which communicates with a smartphone. It was the first implantation of the arrhythmia recorder in a child in Poland and one of the first in Europe.

According to the Information and Promotion Office of the Medical University of Warsaw, this historic treatment was performed by: Dr Piotr Wieniawski from the Department of Cardiology of the Childhood and General Pediatrics, Dr Marcin Grabowski from the Clinic of Cardiology, Dr Beata Cała from the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Pediatric Therapy, Katarzyna Gadomska, Dr Piotr Przygodzki from the Abbott company and a team of nurses, and technicians from the Center of the Invasive Cardiovascular System of the Children’s and General Pediatrics of the Warsaw Department Medical University.
