A vision of landscape transformation of the Neckar river valley (Stuttgart region) in Germany based on the idea of recycling, authored by students of the architecture faculty of the Gdansk University of Technology, won first place in an international architecture competition. The young architects proposed the creation of a research centre using existing industrial facilities.

The authors of the project that won the International Student Competition ‘Neckar Landscape Park: Re-Imagining The Productive City Region’ are Marta Hrycyna, Natalia Fronczek, Marta Kloch, Liudmila Matsisovich and Szymon Jackowski. Their work is a proposal for the development of the region based on the idea of recycling – transforming a linear local economy into a more resilient circular economy for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

The competition was organised by the LE:NOTRE Institute in cooperation with Nürtingen-Geislingen University and took place as part of the 12th Landscape Forum in Stuttgart.
