Gdańsk University of Technology to create a modern metrology laboratory

02.10.2020

One of the most modern metrology laboratories in northern Poland will be established in the Department of Machine Technology and Production Automation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology. This is the result of a cooperation agreement signed between the mechanical department and Mitutoyo Polska.

The agreement is the beginning of joint activities for the use of advanced measuring equipment and software as part of didactics and conducting scientific and research works. As a result, the university will receive the latest generation equipment worth over PLN 1.2 million – including 2D and 3D optical measuring systems and coordinate machines.

The equipment will be delivered in two stages. The first three devices should appear at the university at the end of this year, and another two in the following year. Mitutoyo Corporation will provide both the equipment and the appropriate software, and it will also train designated caretakers of individual machines.
