02.05.2019

LM Wind Power in its plant in Cherbourg, France, has produced a windblade with the length exceeding 100 meters for the first time in the history of wind energy. The director of the team supervising the work is Łukasz Cejrowski, a graduate of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz.

The windblade produced in Cherbourg is 107 meters long and will be tested to get the necessary certificates for commercialization and to demonstrate the ability to work without problems for over 20 years.

The new blades will be used in the largest offshore wind turbines in the world – General Electric Heliade-X with a unit power of 12 MW.
