Historical Book of the Year

The monograph “Faces of social rebellion in the Second Polish Republic in the times of the Great Depression (1930–1935) Conditions, course, consequences” by Prof. Janusz Mierzwa, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Dr Joanna Dufrat and Prof. Piotr Cichoracki, University of Wrocław, was recognized as the Historical Book of the Year.

The book was published by the “Historia Iagellonica” Publishing Society associated with the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University. It is a pioneering and comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of social rebellion in Poland during the Great Depression.

The Karol Modzelewski Award for Historical Book of the Year is granted for the best scientific publication in the field of history, without division into epochs and specialties. It was established by the Polish Historical Society.
