Institute of Electronic Materials Technology develops a white laser

07.02.2018

Laser sources of white light can revolutionize the screens of TVs and smartphones, car headlights and they can be even the successor to the standard of wi-fi communication.

Polish scientists work on new methods of producing sources of  white light laser. One of the basic elements of the white light lasers is the ceramic luminophore Ce: YAG- currently developed at the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology in Warsaw. Luminophore is a chemical compound causing the effect of luminescence, that is to say, emitting light waves not under the influence of high temperature.
White light can be used, among others in LEDs, in laser lights, in the car industry or in energy-saving street lamps.
