26.02.2018

This year, the International Center for the Theory of Quantum Technologies will be opened in Gdańsk, where world-class research will be conducted with the participation of both Polish and foreign scientists.

The creation of this facility was possible thanks to the PLN 35 million funding received by the University of Gdańsk for the creation of a center. The funds were obtained as part of the program International Research Agendas, organized by the Foundation for Science.

The director of the new International Center for the Theory of Quantum Technology is Prof. Marek Żukowski, current director of the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics of the University of Gdańsk. He is the author or co-author of over 150 scientific papers. The most important achievements of Prof. Żukowski are research on quantum communication and on the development of the safest ciphers.
