Eng. D.  Magdalena Owczarek from the Institute of Textile Architecture and M.Sc. Eng. Ewelina Pabjańczyk-Wlazło from the Department of Materials Science, Commodity Science and Textile Metrology of the Lodz University of Technology won the international program LaunchLab European Institute of Innovation and Technology at YESDELFT in the Netherlands.

Their invention myHydro is a textile band with a printed electronic circuit. The device’s task is to control the hydration of people actively involved in sports, small children or seniors, whose thirst declines with age.

Polish researchers have found an innovative solution to combine textiles with electronics and medicine. The device is targeted to solve the problem of hydration control.

The prototype tests will begin soon and the completed product is expected on the market for approximately three years.
