Invention of the Lodz University of Technology receives golden medal in Concours Lépine

The world’s oldest international competition for inventions, Concours Lépine was successful for the invention of the consortium of the Department of Electrical Apparatus at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automatics of the Lodz University of Technology (TUL) and the Woltan Electrical Apparatus Department.

They received a gold medal for the following solution: USH – ultra-fast hybrid systems for protecting DC circuits with high magnetic energies, including: 1a – DCU-HM family for DC1 and DC2 railway traction systems, 1b – DCSS family for protection of superconducting electromagnets. Authors include Dr Marek Bartosik, Prof. Piotr Borkowski, Dr Franciszek Wójcik, Andrzej Jeske and Eng. Łukasz Nowak.

Concours Lépine is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the French Republic.
