Inventors of the University of Silesia awarded in the Student-Inventor competition

The inventors of the University of Silesia have been awarded as part of the National Student-Inventor Competition for two innovative solutions.

One of the five main prizes of the competition was given to the creators of the method and equipment for optimizing the process of burning solid fuels in grate power boilers. Co-creators of the invention are Adam Świerczyński, a graduate of the University of Silesia, as well as Dr Eng. Szymon Ciukaj from the Silesian University of Technology and Mariusz Grzesiczak, patent attorney at the University of Silesia.

The award was also granted to the authors of a series of inventions regarding a convenient and efficient method of synthesis of perylene and coronene derivatives by the cycloaddition reaction of diels-aldera of arynes into the cavity of perylene and its derivatives. Co-creators of the innovation are Bogumiła Gołek, Agata Grabowska, Justyna Łucka, Eng. Witold Ignasiak and Prof. Eng. Stanisław Krompiec, Beata Marcol-Szumilas, Dr Eng. Grażyna Szafraniec-Gorol and Dr Marek Matussek.
