Krakow University of Technology develops checkpoint gate to protect against coronavirus

02.06.2020

From Friday, May 29, the Children’s University Hospital in Krakow has been testing a low-budget checkpoint gate for automatic temperature measurement and hand disinfection with a wifi data transmission module. The construction was developed by scientists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Krakow University of Technology (PK).

This solution is to support the safety of employees of medical facilities, offices, universities, manufacturing companies, schools or cultural facilities in the period of coronavirus.

The PK checkpoint gate can be used as an identification and disinfection spot wherever there is a risk of infection of large groups of people.

The checkpoint gate has not only very low production costs (several times lower than commercial gates). The solutions used in it allow to examine persons of different height and fitness, with the same accuracy, also persons in a wheelchair.
