Krakow University of Technology strengthened cooperation with the University Children’s Hospital in Krakow

The Krakow University of Technology (PK) and the University Children’s Hospital in Krakow have concluded a cooperation agreement to jointly support Medical Engineering, a field of study offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Thanks to the concluded agreement, medical engineering students will be able to undergo internships in the hospital, and PK scientists will cooperate in ​​constructing and using medical technology.

-We are also thinking about implementing a pilot training program allowing to obtain the qualifications of a clinical engineer recognized in the European Union, whose work is related to the maintenance of highly specialized medical equipment during procedures – said Prof. Jerzy Sładek, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,

During the pandemic, PK provided the University Children’s Hospital with protective helmets, masks, thermal imaging cameras, and scientists from PK together with medics developed low-budget respirator prototypes.
