Krakow University of Technology strengthening cooperation with the Municipal Transport Company in Krakow

The main objectives of the cooperation agreement concluded between the Krakow University of Technology (PK) and Urban transport company (MPK) SA in Krakow include joint implementation of research and development projects and applying for their financing from national and European funds, the use of partners’ equipment and infrastructure to implement research projects, exchange of knowledge and experience regarding modern technologies.

The University of Technology informs that the priority research topics of cooperation between PK and MPK will concern: application of the LCC (Life Cycle Cost) model to assess the effectiveness of the purchase and modernization of public transport rolling stock in Krakow; supply logistics, storage, distribution and technical support for the operation of hydrogen-powered buses; the use of autonomous vehicles in public transport; technology for repairing battery packs in electric buses.

The contract was signed by the rector, Prof. Andrzej Białkiewicz, vice-rector for science Prof. Dariusz Bogdał, Dr Rafał Świerczyński, president of the board of MPK SA and Mariusz Szałkowski, vice president of the company.
