15.01.2021

The University of Zielona Góra and the Multidisciplinary Provincial Hospital in Gorzów Wielkopolski received a grant of almost PLN 2.5 million for conducting the research project “The use of UV-C technology to reduce SARS-CoV-2 virus transmission and reduce the transmission of infections in hospitals”, which aims to develop modern disinfection equipment using UV-C technology.

As part of the project, 70 devices will be developed and verified using UV-C technologies – UV-C installations for direct and flow radiation, as well as air purifier installations for disinfecting the upper air zones and sterilizing flat surfaces.

The obtained data and studies will be the basis for the development of disinfection and sterilization systems intended for use in medical units, especially in the conditions of a developing pandemic and an increased risk of multiplication of viruses and bacteria in the hospital environment.
