Łukasiewicz – PORT to manage research in the field of medical biotechnology

The Łukasiewicz – Polish Center for Technology Development (PORT) will be the entity managing the Virtual Research Institute program. The Institute will receive PLN 450 million over 10 years to finance research in the field of medical biotechnology – oncology.

The activities of the Virtual Research Institute (WIB) will focus primarily on financing innovative research with real commercialization potential that will bring real benefits to the Polish society and economy. The Institute will operate on the basis of the Act on supporting scientific activity from the Polish Science Fund.

The WIB program is directed to the most outstanding and talented Polish scientists who operate at the highest world level – representatives of Polish universities and scientific and research institutes. Research teams will be selected through open competitions. The first such call will be announced this year.
