The Maritime University of Gdynia (UMG) and the Chinese Maritime University of Dalian have concluded a cooperation agreement. The document to this effect was signed by the rectors of both universities – Prof. Eng. Capt. Great Maritime Adam Weintrit and Prof. Sun Yuqing.

The partners announce student and staff exchanges, joint research projects and scientific activities. Dalian University is the 27th foreign university with which UMG will collaborate.

The Chinese university is one of the largest maritime universities in the world, educating more than 25,000 students. Situated on the Yellow Sea, the city of Dalian has a population of around four million and is one of the largest ports in the world.

“The signed agreement opens up new opportunities for the Maritime University of Gdynia, just as the cooperation agreement we signed with Shanghai Maritime University 40 years ago opened the way for our University to cooperate extensively with the Far East for many decades”, says the rector of UMG.
