Medical students in Kielce to support doctors in the fight against the coronavirus

19.10.2020

Students of the last year of medicine of the Jan Kochanowski University (UJK) in Kielce will actively support doctors in hospital departments – said Professor Stanisław Głuszek, the rector of the Kielce university.

-In special situations, when there would be a shortage of medical staff, students of the sixth year of the medical faculty could come with such help. They would become junior assistants – said the rector of the Kielce University.

As Professor Stanisław Głuszek explains, students could be the first to talk to patients and do a medical interview. They can also do some treatments. As the rector emphasizes, the medical staff is exposed now to coronavirus infection, but also to fatigue. Students could ease the burden of the doctors.
