Medical University of Poznań to launch the NeuroCOVID Clinic

On the initiative of its scientists, Medical University of Poznań – Prof. Sławomir Michalak and Dr Joanna Rybacka-Mossakowska, with the support of the management of the Heliodor Święcicki hospital, will launch a NeuroCOVID Clinic.

The frequency and scope of symptoms from the central and peripheral nervous system in people who have experienced SARS-Cov-2 infection causes the need for specialist dealing with this group of patients. Up to 84 percent COVID-19 survivors suffer from symptoms associated with the acute phase of infection, including olfactory and taste disorders, neurological deficits associated with ischemic stroke, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis or autoimmune inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathies

After experiencing COVID-19, there are disturbances in concentration, attention, memory (“brain fog”, headaches, muscle pains, or symptoms of neuropathy / polyneuropathy.
