18.06.2021

The Medical University of Silesia (SUM) received over PLN 9.3 million in funding for a project in the Medical Research Agency competition “Creation and development of Clinical Research Support Centers ABM / 2021/4”. The university’s partners are the Prof. Leszek Giec Upper Silesian Medical Center and the Prof. K. Gibiński University Clinical Center.

The project involves the creation of a specialized Clinical Research Support Center with an organized organizational structure that will provide professional, comprehensive, systemic services supporting the implementation of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials.

Establishing the Center will allow to shorten the time of research and increase the quality of the obtained data. The project will increase the attractiveness of the clinical trials market in Poland, which will contribute to more frequent selection of Polish research centers by sponsors and thus an increase in the number of conducted trials and access to modern and innovative therapies for patients.
