National Center for Research and Development to launch first INFOSTRATEG competition

The National Center for Research and Development will allocate PLN 60 million to co-finance projects in the field of artificial intelligence under the first competition of the INFOSTRATEG program. Scientists will work on recognizing medical images in the field of respiratory tract, breast cancer in women, prostate cancer in men, as well as verifying information sources and detecting fake news.

As part of the INFOSTRATEGa program, projects are to be carried out to support the development of the Polish potential of artificial intelligence by developing solutions using artificial intelligence and blockchain in practice.

The aim of the competition’s projects is to develop universal tools for the analysis and description of various types of medical images. It will improve the quality of imaging diagnostics, shorten the waiting time for diagnosis, start early treatment of common forms of cancer, and thus also reduce mortality, and shorten the queues to specialist doctors.
