National Program for the Development of Humanities finances University of Wrocław projects

Two projects of the University of Wrocław received funding under the Universalia 2.1 competition of the National Program for the Development of Humanities. The funded researches concerns the relationship between food and art and the perception of 17th-century Dutch painting.

The project “Translation into English and printing of Dorota Koczanowicz’s book “The Position of Taste. Food within the boundaries of art” received over 115 thousand PLN. The book by Dr Dorota Koczanowicz from the University of Wrocław is the first Polish monograph devoted to the aesthetics of food.

The project “Translation into English and editing of the monograph “Dutch painting in the seventeenth century in Polish after 1918” by Dr Magdalena Śniedziewska received over 78 thousand PLN. The book is an attempt of a monographic approach to the problem of the reception of 17th-century Dutch painting in Polish post-war literature.

The Universalia 2.1 competition allows to finance the best scientific critical editions, their translations and studies.
