The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, took part in the ceremony of signing and laying the foundation act for the construction of the seat of the Vilnius Branch of the University of Białystok, for the construction of which the Ministry of Education and Science has allocated PLN 30 million.
“The establishment of a branch of the University is an important event in Polish-Lithuanian relations at the level of education and science. We are pleased that the University of Białystok is the only one in Poland to have its own branch abroad. This is of particular importance for Poles in Lithuania,” said Minister Przemysław Czarnek emphasised during his speech.
Since 2007, the Faculty of Economics and Information Technology of the University of Bialystok has been operating in Vilnius, where, as part of undergraduate studies, students study three majors: economics, computer science and European studies, and since 2014 also MA studies in economics. So far, more than 840 graduates have completed their studies at the Vilnius branch.
