Szymon Duda, a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, will spend five months in the USA. At the University of Memphis, under the supervision of Professor Ali Fatemi, a world-renowned expert in fatigue and fracture of engineering materials, he will conduct research related to the topic of his PhD. The trip is made possible by the Fulbright Junior Research Award program.
A total of 66 young scientists from all over Poland applied for the opportunity to visit the USA for a research grant. They had to describe in detail the scientific project they intend to carry out locally and then answer a series of questions from experts during an interview.
The winner will be in the US for 5 months to carry out a project related to his doctorate – ‘Effective fatigue life assessment of composite thin-walled structures under multiaxial loading conditions’.
