Polish Academy of Sciences to launch “Polar Mission” competition

The Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) is organizing the second “Polar Mission” competition, which is aimed at young explorers with a flair for science. The winners will be able to participate in a holiday stay at the Polish Polar Station Hornsund in Spitsbergen.

Participants need to submit their research or innovation project on polar regions by December 20 (max. 1500 characters) and be people aged 15 years or older. The next parts will include presenting the project as a film, poster or essay, and an interview with the participant. Ultimately, 6 members of the polar expedition will be selected.

The competition is also aimed at children aged 10-14 and includes preparing a scientific poster. The deadline for submissions is March 31st. In this category, the prize is participation in the three-day Summer School for Young Researchers at the geophysical observatories of the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Mazovia.
