Polish-German Foundation for Science announced humanities and social sciences calls

The Polish-German Foundation for Science (PNFN) has announced two additional calls in humanities and social sciences. Scientific institutions and universities in Poland and Germany can apply for funding up to 300,000 euro for partner research projects devoted to Polish-German relations.

The competition “German occupation of Poland 1939-1945: politics – terror – everyday life – resistance” will contribute to research on Poland and Poles during World War II. A Polish-German team of authors will prepare a comprehensive historical study on the German occupation.

The competition “Culture of memory: media – prosperity. Poland and Germany after 1989” will allow the analysis of the cultures of memory. Scientists will identify strengths and weaknesses in the perception of a neighboring country.

The application deadline is November 15, 2021. The PNFN will decide on the financing of the best projects in April 2022.
