Polish Railways SA and the National Center for Research and Development PLN announced 50 million for research and development in railway infrastructure

PKP Polish Railways SA and the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) have announced the 2nd competition for research and development projects under the BRIK Joint Venture – Research and Development in Railway Infrastructure. 

The aim of the competition is to search for new opportunities for the development of innovations in the railway industry in the areas of railway traffic safety, energy efficiency, ecology and improvement of the infrastructure diagnostics process. Both partners have planned PLN 50 million to support projects in the competition.

-Together with our partner, we will support the development of new technologies that meet the needs of the industry, with also improving the comfort of passengers. We hope that the implementation of this competition will result in innovations increasing the safety of railway traffic, energy efficiency and streamlining the processes of assessing the quality of railway infrastructure – said Dr Wojciech Kamieniecki, director of the NCBR.

The program is dedicated to research units and companies from the railway industry. The call for applications will run from January 28, 2022 to March 31, 2022.
