Almost EUR 8 billion will be received by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy for the development of science and new technologies in Poland. The money will be earmarked for the development of scientific programmes and international research teams as well as the transfer of new technologies to industry.

The European Commission has approved the Polish programme “European Funds for a Modern Economy”. More than half of the money will be allocated to small and medium-sized enterprises for research and development projects in the following areas: environment, health and Industry 4.0.

Polish scientific units can also count on support, if they participate in projects in consortia with entrepreneurs. The programme envisages, among other things, the creation and development of research and development centres.

One of the objectives of the programme is also to increase the capacity of the scientific sector to cooperate, e.g. by creating international research agendas.
