In the latest ranking published by The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), Poznan University of Technology was ranked among 7.4 % of the best universities and academic institutions in the world. 

The ranking took into account 20,531 universities from all over the world, of which the best 2,000 were ranked in the Global 2000 ranking list (including 40 Polish institutions). The Poznań university was ranked 1508th in the global ranking and 28th in the Polish part of the list published since 2012 by CWUR, based in the United Arab Emirates.

CWUR prepares the ranking on the basis of four criteria, with relying on surveys or data submitted by universities. They include: quality of education (25%), success and employment of graduates (25%), quality of faculties (10%), and research output, including its effectiveness, number of articles published in top journals, impact and citations (40%).
