The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, met with representatives of the Presidiums of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP) and the Polish Academy of Sciences ( PAN) to discuss the future model for the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity in Poland, funding of access to journal databases and the amendment of the Act on Higher Education and Science.

During the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Science informed about the submission for the signature of the President of Poland of an amendment to the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science and some other acts. 

The amendment is related to the entry into force of the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Science of 11 October 2022 on the fields of science and scientific disciplines and artistic disciplines, including in the scope of: conferring rights to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees and conducting doctoral schools in the case of separation of a new discipline, as well as the rules of conducting proceedings on the conferring of doctoral degrees, postdoctoral degrees and the title of professor in the case of inclusion of a discipline in another discipline or in other disciplines or inclusion of a field in another field or in other fields.
