Pro-rector of the Warsaw University of Technology elected chairman of the Metrology Council

Prof. Jacek Semaniak, President of the Central Office of Weights and Measures, awarded Prof. Adam Woźniak, Vice-Rector for Development of the Warsaw University of Technology, with an appointment as Chairman of the Council of Metrology, which is a consultative and advisory body to the President of the Central Office of Weights and Measures.

The appointment letters to the members of the Council of Metrology of the second term were presented during its first meeting, held on 20 September 2022. The appointments were signed by the Minister of Development and Technology.

The Council of Metrology is an entity supporting the development of metrology in Poland. It is a consultative and advisory body to the President of the Central Office of Measures (GUM). It gives its opinion on the status and directions of development of national metrology, the substantive activities of the metrology administration, the GUM’s four-year strategic action plan and annual plans and reports. At the request of the President of the GUM or the minister responsible for economy, it prepares analyses and positions on the indicated areas.

The Council comprises representatives of state structures, industry and science. It currently has 16 members.
