Prof. Aaron Ciechanover to hold a webinar on role of science in society

On June 17, Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, the Nobel Prize winner and honorary doctor of the University of Warsaw (UW) will participate in a webinar “Are we in the midst of a knowledge crisis? The role of science in society. “

During the meeting, participants will be able to ask Prof. Aaron Ciechanover questions regarding scientific career development. The event is a part of the “Initiative of Excellence – Research College” program under the international Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative program, implemented by Nobel Media in cooperation with AstraZeneca. The webinar partners are: Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and the Medical University of Warsaw.

Professor Aaron Ciechanover in 2004, together with Prof. Avram Hershko and Irwin Rose, received the Nobel Prize for discovering “the cyclic mechanism of protein degradation in higher organisms with ubiquitin.”

On November 15, 2011, he received an honorary doctor title from the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology.
