The innovative water circulation control system at INOMEL drainage facilities, co-created by scientists from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, won the gold medal at Polagra Premiery in the category of “Machines, devices and services for agriculture”.

The INOMEL system is the answer of Polish scientists to the climate and market challenges affecting the conditions of agricultural production. The system is based on mathematical models of subsoil irrigation and regulated drainage, meteorological forecasts and simple drainage devices as well as remote sensing support useful for assessing the condition of field crops.

Scientists of the Wrocław university implement the INOMEL project in a consortium with the Institute of Technology and Life Sciences and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, as well as AGROCOM Polska and Geofabryka. The project is implemented under the BIOSTRATEG program co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development.
