“Mass Aid in Mass Escape. Polish society towards wartime migration from Ukraine’ is the title of a report that describes the results of a study conducted by researchers from the Institute of Applied Social Sciences (ISNS) of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Social Reintegration at the University of Warsaw (UW). Students were also involved in the research work.

The report presents mainly grassroots and private aid, to a lesser extent institutional aid. However, the research has shown the phenomenon of interpenetration of private and public forms of assistance, mainly at the local level.

Topics covered in the report include the aid organised in the first days and weeks of the war at the Central Station in Warsaw, the decision dilemmas of fleeing or staying in a country at war, the presence of people from Ukraine in local communities, and the protection of human rights in a refugee situation. In addition, the report describes the experiences of Ukrainian women in temporary residence in Poland and the situation of refugee children in the Polish education system.
