Researcher from the Wrocław University of Economics becomes President of the International Federation of Classification Societies

Prof. Krzysztof Jajuga from Wrocław University of Economics has been unanimously elected President of the International Federation Classification Societies (IFCS) by the IFCS Council. The scientist serves as President-Elect from 2023 to 2024, after which he will assume the role of IFCS President from 2025 to 2026, according to the statutes.

The IFCS is a global scientific society whose members specialise in the analysis of various types of data. Founded in 1985, the Society currently has 18 national societies from the USA, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, among others. The IFCS brings together several thousand people working in the field of data analytics.

Problems in the area of Data Science, which is at the centre of IFCS interests, are crucial for the modern world: professional data analysis is becoming a leading factor in economic and social growth and development.
