29.07.2021

Prof. Maria Gańczak, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Institute of Medical Sciences of the Collegium Medicum of the University of Zielona Góra, received an invitation to participate in the international research project RIVER-EU financed under the Horizon 2020 program.

The project aims to improve access to vaccination for children, adolescents and young adults by reducing health inequalities and improving the implementation of vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV) and against measles in communities that are not properly vaccinated.

The project focuses on five communities in Europe: the migrant community in Greece (measles and HPV), Turkish and Moroccan migrant women in the Netherlands (HPV), Ukrainian migrants in Poland (measles and HPV) and the Roma community in Slovakia (HPV). The research will also include satisfactorily vaccinated migrant communities in the UK, Finland and Israel.
