Researchers at the University of Silesia developed a control switch for smart buildings

11.09.2018

Researchers from the University of Silesia have designed a modern touch switch that is used to operate many electrical devices in smart buildings. The device has been protected by a utility model.

The switch can be used in the so-called smart homes and in public buildings equipped with advanced technological solutions. It is the size of a classic light switch and can control properly any home or office equipment connected to the integrated system. It can be used to support entry gates, doors, air conditioners, fireplaces, lighting, audiovisual equipment, blinds, displays, sprinklers and cameras.
The switch is easy to use – the user does not have to remember which panel supports the selected device. It has four touch areas with the lit icons symbolizing the functions available at the moment.
