An invention of scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology- a probe for measuring the corrosion rate won a platinum medal for the most valuable invention in the industrial sector and the grand prix award of the 15th International Trade Fair of Inventions and Innovations INTARG 2022.

The probe uses an innovative integrated system of dual corrosion sensors, which allows simultaneous monitoring of the uniform corrosion rate and steel hydration in real time (on-line). The operators of the installation equipped with such a probe can control and immediately react to the current risk of increased corrosion by appropriate corrective actions, e.g. adjusting process parameters or increasing the doses of anti-corrosion agents.

The invention “Probe for measuring the corrosion rate” was created as a result of the KORMON project acquired by Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA under the INNOCHEM program.
