Researchers of the University of Gdańsk receive two patents for inventions

Implementation of the grant of the National Center for Research and Development “New technologies of pharmacological stimulation of regeneration” REGENNOVA brought two decisions of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland to grant two patents to the scientists of  chemistry department of the University of Gdańsk.

The first patented invention is: “RDKVYR peptide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for use in composite tissue regeneration and wound healing in mammal”. The substance – after conducting clinical trials – could become a completely new agent facilitating the healing of chronic wounds caused by various diseases.

The second invention is “A new peptide for use as a chondrogenesis stimulator and drug in the treatment of cartilage defects”. It can be used in medicine as a treatment for bone and joint problems, and more specifically for problems related to the lack or trauma of cartilage. Its recipients may include active seniors and people suffering from diseases related to the production of cartilage tissue.
