Researchers of the University of Silesia developed a new method of obtaining a ceramic ultracapacitor

10.05.2021

Scientists of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Silesia have proposed a new method of obtaining a ceramic ultracapacitor. It is an element used primarily in electronics and electrical engineering, used to collect electricity.

Scientists designing new materials for this application are primarily searching for solutions leading to shortening the production process and reducing costs while maintaining its efficiency.  Lowering the temperature of the production process is also a significant factor.

Scientists from the Silesian university proposed a new, highly efficient method of obtaining a ceramic ultracapacitor. It consists of at least one ceramic layer located between conductive metal electrodes. It enables to lower the temperature of the so-called high-temperature sintering and shortening the production process to two steps. The invention has already been patented.
