‘Sapientia et Veritas’ Medals of Merit for Polish Science for services to higher education and science

The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, presented the ‘Sapientia et Veritas’ medals for merit to Polish science. The medals are awarded for special merits to higher education and science, including for outstanding achievements in scientific, teaching or organisational activities.

The ‘Sapientia et Veritas’ Medal of Merit for Polish Science has three gold, silver and bronze ranks. This enables a candidate for the award to be honoured according to his or her merits or achievements. It can be awarded to, among others, persons of merit in science and higher education, including those without Polish citizenship, universities, foundations, research institutes, associations. The medal may also be awarded posthumously.

The following persons were honoured with gold medals: Rev. Dr Waldemar Józef Cisło, Prof. Tadeusz Marek Krygowski, Prof. Michał Seweryński, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, Prof. Włodzimierz Suleja, Prof. Bogdan Witold Szlachta, Prof. Zofia Zdybicka USJK and posthumously Rev. Andrzej Maryniarczyk and Prof. Waldemar Paruch.
