Scientist from the Jagiellonian University becomes the chairman of the European Society of Cognitive Psychology

Professor Michał Wierzchoń, an employee of the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, was elected president of the European Society for Cognitive Psychology (ESCoP).

He is the first Polish scientist to assume this function since the founding of an organization in 1985, which brings together nearly 1,000 researchers from all over the world.

“It is an honor and a great challenge that motivates me to continue working. My choice is also proof of the international recognition of the entire Polish community of cognitive psychologists” says Prof. Michał Wierzchoń.

Prof. Michał Wierzchoń manages the C-Lab Laboratory for Consciousness Research at the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University and the Center for Brain Research of the Jagiellonian University. He is also the Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University and the head of the International Doctoral Program in Cognitive Neuroscience.
