Scientist from the Lodz University of Technology becomes a member of Academia Europaea

Prof. Tomasz Kapitaniak, who heads the Department of Dynamics at the Lodz University of Technology, became a member of the physics & engineering sciences section of the Academia Europaea, an elite association of scientists advising the European Commission.   

Academia Europaea, founded on the initiative of the British Royal Society, the world’s oldest scientific society and the Swedish Academy of Sciences, is inviting scientists with outstanding achievements to join its group. It is an elite association that can be joined by invitation only and is peer-reviewed by carefully selected scholars. Academia Europaea currently has more than 4,500 members from all over the world, including many Nobel Prize winners.

Prof. Kapitaniak has become an Assistant Professor at the age of 29, he received the title of the professor when he was 36. He has published 311 scientific articles in prestigious journals, cited more than 6 000 times. He is an international authority in the field of so-called deterministic chaos and control of irregular movements. In 2013, he was elected a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
