Scientist of the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award

28.05.2020

Dr Patryk Włodarczyk was nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2020 in the Future Scientist category for the project “Synthesis of nanomaterials with a high absorption coefficient of electromagnetic radiation in the range of radio waves and microwaves using amorphous dielectric and magnetic materials”.

The scientist of the Research Network Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals uses amorphous polysaccharides and magnetic materials to create a radiation absorbing composite. The best obtained dielectric material composites will be used to make nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning.

The absorption of microwave radiation is used in the technology of “stealth” – creating coatings absorbing radar radiation. In the future, materials with a high absorption coefficient can be used for personal protection and electrical devices against electrosmog.
