Scientist of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław becomes a member of the State Council of Water Management

Professor Tomasz Kowalczyk, director of the Institute of Environmental Development and Protection of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, became a member of the National Council of Water Management. This is the fifth term of the consultative and advisory body of the minister responsible for water management.

The State Water Management Council was established under the Water Law Act of 2017. It is to present proposals and conclusions regarding the improvement of the condition of water resources, protection against floods and the effects of drought, but also to provide opinions on draft planning documents and normative acts.

The Council consists of 30 members nominated by nationwide organizations associating local government units, universities, scientific and research units as well as social, economic and environmental organizations related to water management. The current council will operate until 2023.
