Scientists of the University of Adam Mickiewicz to help children build a better future

10.09.2021

Scientists from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań began the implementation of the project “Economic, social and cultural rights as rights of the child – Empowering children in building a better future”. The project received funding under a competition organized by the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice and the Right Livelihood Foundation in Stockholm.

The effect of their activities is to be a document-compilation of the principles and standards of economic, social and cultural rights of children. It will take into account the latest achievements of UN treaty bodies and the activity of other institutions dealing with children’s social rights.

The document will be accompanied by a handbook containing guidance on how the principles and standards should be interpreted and implemented in practice. They will concern the right to education, health protection and adequate housing. The publication will be academic in nature but will take into account children’s perspectives in the form of child-friendly graphics.
