Scientists of the Warsaw University of Technology nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award

30.07.2020

Dr Eng. Agnieszka Siemion and Dr Eng. Karol Kakarenko of the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) received nominations for the Polish Intelligent Development Awards 2020 in the Scientist of the Future category.

Dr Siemion was nominated for the project “Terahertz multitask diffraction device improving imaging of skin cancer”. The researcher’s goal is creating a system for illuminating and imaging the skin (this way it will be possible to identify tissues with neoplastic changes).

Dr Kakarenko was nominated for the implementation of the project “Improving the quality of vision through dynamic optics”. The scientist and his team are working on a device that will automatically and accurately “measure” the eye, and then generate any corrective element on a special display and place it virtually in the eyeball.
