The Silesian University of Technology has launched a state-of-the-art Industrial Catalysis Laboratory. The main objective of the research center will be designing modern, ecological technologies for industrial applications.
Researchers will deal with the use of biomass and materials of plant origin for energy storage and technologies for the production of intelligent materials for medical applications, including scaffolding for tissues, eco-implants, surgical threads or self-releasing drugs.
State-of-the-art equipment and devices based on the latest technologies have been deployed in the laboratory. They will be used for multidirectional research in cooperation with partners from the socio-economic environment. The investment was financed from the subsidy of the university rector as part of the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” program, which is an element of the development strategy of the Silesian University of Technology for 2021-2024.
