Six Polish scientists join the list of the most-cited scientists in the world

The annual list of the world’s most cited scientists announced by Clarivate Analytics – Highly Cited Researchers 2021, includes 6,602 people, including 6 Poles.  

The most frequently cited Polish scientists in 2021 are: Piotr Ponikowski, rector of the Medical University in Wrocław (for the seventh time in the list), Jacek Namieśnik from the Gdańsk University of Technology (for the third time), Hazem M. Kalaji from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (for the third time), Vicentiu D. Radulescu from the AGH University in Krakow (for the first time), as well as Piotr Rutkowski from the National Institute of Oncology – National Research Institute and Atanas G. Atanasov affiliated to the Polish Academy of Sciences. Presence in the Highly Cited Researchers is highly rewarded in the Shanghai Ranking.

The HCR list is published by the international analytical company Clarivate Analytics based on the Web of Science database. It indicates scientists whose publications were among the 1% most cited in 21 fields of science.
